If you are currently a legal massage clinic do not apply for a brothel licence. The Auckland city council will then deem you to be a brothel and try to shut you down by putting all sorts of bullshit and restrictions in your way. It seems that the Auckland City Council has found another way to close brothels.
A massage clinic can legally apply for a compliance certificate for a brothel under S10 of the RMA that it is “similar in character and intensity” to a brothel and the auckland City Council should by law give a certificate. But they disregard the Statute laws of New Zealand and apply their own law which says “when you apply for a brothel licence your health protection certificate is revoked never to be renewed again and you have to spend thousands of dollars and up to three years to get the Brothel Licence”. BUT you may not get the licence anyway because the Planning department of the Auckland City Council will find a way to refuse it.My adopinion is if you are a massage clinic in Auckland City is to not apply for a brothel licence because you won”t get it and they will shut you down. Continue with your “Health Protection Licence” and do not openly be a brothel. The Auckland city council is going to start gathering evidence very soon and will be shutting you down
