The parade in Auckland has been getting a lot of publicity with the Mayor publicly opposed to it. This seems to be a common theme with the council to oppose something on moral grounds to try and instill their own values in the wider community. This parade will go ahead regardless of what the mayor thinks, it is very similar to the SEX industry which will carry on regardless of what the laws say. When it was not legal it still operated in New zealand and now that it is legal it seems not a lot has changed.
