My unscientific poll shows that most Aucklander’s prefer to have a SOOB as a neighbour but not a brothel. Most people think of “The Whitehouse” when they are asked about a brothel as a neighbour. A small owner operated brothel is only a brothel because the government has declared it by law. In fact they are private escorts who operate from home and have always been in residential areas and will not go away with any law change. Most residents think that because the government changed the law that they suddenly appeared, but they forget they have always been around. So my poll shows that not only are brothels okay in residential areas they are actually encouraged because then the clients will not have so far to travel.
